Richa Sawhney is associated with J.P. Chawla & Co. as a Senior Advisor. She has over 16 years of experience in handling direct tax and regulatory matters for multinational and Indian companies.

She qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1996 and as a Cost Accountant from the Institute of Cost Accountants in 1995. She is also a commerce honours graduate from Delhi University's prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce.

She has been associated with organisations such as PwC and Deloitte for about 12 years. She lead the PwC Knowledge Management and L&E Teams in NCR and was part of their Centre of Excellence initiatives. She has been actively involved in monitoring, analysing key tax policy developments and making representations to the concerned authorities. She was part several lobbying initiatives on Direct Taxes Code, LLPs and Withholding Tax matters. She has closely worked with the tax Committees of several Chambers of Commerce such as Amcham and Assocham. She is a regular contributor of articles on emerging International and direct tax issues to various newspapers, tax journals and tax portals. She has conducted several sessions on emerging international tax issues at various tax forums,

She is associated as faculty member for direct taxes with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for their e-learning program for the Final Year Students. She is also a member of the International Fiscal Association.

Her core areas of expertise include direct and international tax advisory and expatriate taxation.

Sunil Verma

Sunil Verma is associated with J P Chawla & Co. as a Senior Advisor. He has over 40 years of experience of handling Audit, Consulting and Government Auditing.

He is a B Tech (Honours) in Aeronautical Engineering from the IIT Kharagpur and a Certified Internal Auditor from The Institute of Internal Auditors.

Sunil Verma joined the Indian Audit and Accounts Service in 1974.During the course of his career, he was Internal Financial Advisor to the President of India, Financial Advisor to the New Delhi Municipal Council, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Member (Economic & Commercial) of the Central Electricity Authority of the Government of India, Ministry of Power and finally Deputy Comptroller & Auditor General of India and ex officio Chairman Audit Board.

After 37 years of service with the Indian Audit & Accounts Service, he was associated with Ernst & Young as Consultant cum Advisor, carried out consulting assignments with the Asian Development Bank (power sector), the International Labour Organisation (rural roads) and the India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (Monitoring & Evaluation Framework and Governance and Accountability Action Plan).

He is currently working as Member (Finance) of the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission and is also one of two Independent Integrity Monitors vis-à-vis all of the Ministry of Home Affairs initiatives relating to procurement of arms and equipment for all the Central Police Organizations.

He is a frequent commentator on issues relating to Audit by the CAG of India, the defense industry and the electricity sector.
